Kansas Meats Beef Is Only USDA Prime & USDA Choice Grade
We only sell the best meat. The USDA grades beef eight different ways. The two highest grades are Prime and Choice. Beef sold from Kansas Meats is only USDA Prime or USDA Choice graded beef. If you desire the best, only buy Prime or Choice graded beef.
Prime grade beef is produced from young, well-fed beef cattle. It has abundant marbling and is generally sold in restaurants and hotels. Prime roasts and steaks are excellent for grilling, broiling or roasting.
Choice grade beef is still of high quality, but has less marbling than Prime. Choice roasts and steaks from the loin and rib are very tender, juicy, and flavorful and are suited for grilling, broiling or roasting. Many of the less tender cuts, such as those from the rump, round, and blade chuck, can also be cooked with dry heat if not overcooked. Such cuts will be most tender if “braised” — roasted, or simmered with a small amount of liquid in a tightly covered pan.
Why Kansas Meats Only Sells The Best
Before moving to New York after college, Kansas Meats' founder grew up on a farm in Kansas where the best livestock were hand picked out of the herd for slaughter and consumption. Each animal would then be small-batch processed at a local processor instead of sold and processed at an industrial meat packing plant. The hand-picked hundreds of pounds of meat would be stored in a 20 cu. ft. chest freezer until eaten.
This process resulted in the best tasting and most nutritional meat consumed on a daily basis.
After living in New York and realizing this same quality of meat was not available in stores, restaurants, or online retailers, Kansas Meats' founder started working with a family-owned meat processor in his hometown of Clay Center, KS to create a made-to-order system to process, inspect, and deliver the best tasting meat in vacuum sealed packs on dry ice nationwide.
KansasMeats.com was born and launched with a small group of beta customers in November 2016.
